Hi,
I am from Chennai(India). I have Myophia of about -10 dioptres in both of my eyes. When Inquired about LASIK LASER in one of the well know hospital I was advised not to undergo LASIK as my corneal thickness was bit less to undergo LASIK surgery. But I see in many sites and papers that patients with less Corneal thickness can undergo ZYOPTIX 100. Is it true? Can anybody suggest me if it is good option for me to take up ZYOPTIX 100. Has anybody had the experience of undergoing ZYOPTIX 100 surgery after being advised that they are not fit for undergoing LASIK due to less Corneal thickness. |

Dear Vijay,
-10 diopters sounds borderline for LASIK. For in depth advice it will be necessary to know your corneal thickness, K-readings (steep/flat cornea?) and your pupil size.
So we can calculate your LASIK Risk score
The Zyoptix 100 website says that they have a special algorithm to "Reduce thickness of treatment by 10–20% (good for extreme myopia)" but often this reduces the effective optical Zone (EOZ).
Maybe in your case is an anterior chamber lens a better choice.
Take care,
