Hi Marianne

You are still in the first post OP. As you know recovery is slower in the first post OP and maybe what the assistant told you was the wisest thing to do. Dropping with a tight schedule would probably most important.

Please tell us whether it has become better or worde after about 2 weeks. Expect that these problems go on in the first 3 months and let us know how you are going.

You said about seeing things double and the edges shifted. This may be ghostings which often happen when people have large pupils. HOwever, we hope that these will disappear very soon. Your surgery is just 12 days old............Epilasik recovers slower in the first post OP

Hello hello,

Now 6.5 weeks after the operation. My sight is good, I don't need glasses to drive my car, watch television or do computerwork. I went on a check-up at the doctor's after 1 month, and everything is ok. Both right and left, I didn't see everything sharp during the eye test, but when I asked, the doctor told me my sight was at 95% and should further improve with eyedrops... Rolling Eyes

Nevertheless, a few days later I also had to undergo an eye exam for my new job, and I only had 7/10 with my left eye and 8/10 with my right eye, eventhough I have 10/10 sight with both eyes together.

Not bad, but a bit disappointing as my sight with contact lenses / glasses used to be 10/10 for each eye. That difference becomes clear when I drive my car, as I find it hard to read the road signs from a distance - I have to be pretty close to be able to read which direction I should taken, and that's not very handy... Confused

Any tips about vitamins or other supplements I could taken, drops I should use (I now have Hyabak 0.15% (preservative free) and GenTeal Gel (Excelvision/Novartis) for moisurising and still use 2 drops of FML Liquifilm 0.1% (Fluorometholon 1mg/ml) a day) or exercices I could do to further improve the results?

Grts,

Marianne

HI Marianne

Dry eyes may happen after any type of surgery on the eye. In most cases it eases off after some time. You need preservative-free lubricating drops. I think yours are OK. Since you had Epilasik(when i remember), you may need longer to reach your best vision. 95% is not too bad and should improve after lubricating.

One of the risks of a refractive procedure is that you may lose your best-spectacle corrected vision. After 3 months you normally have reached your end result. Your OP is succesful i.e. ''success'' is determined when you are able to drive without glasses.

Vit E and fish oil capsules are not too bad. You need more Omega 3 fatty acids to produce tears. Eat foods rich in olive oil and fish containing Omega 3 like salmon and mackarel.

When you work on the PC screen, try to blink as much as possible. Many people who concentrate forget to blink. Stick a little not with''Do not forget to blink'' on your screen. Hope this helps

After surface ablation(Epilasik, Lasek,PRK), the epithelium needs longer in the FIRST post OP. During the healing stage, you will experience more ups and downs in your eyesight. Expect about 3-6 months until you reach your full corrected vision. Lubricating drops helps healing to a great deal. When you're lucky, you will need only 3 months to reach your full refractive quality(eyesight). 95% is not too bad for this stage

Have you been advised any prevention with Vit C? The results is different in different people and therefore studies are still scarce. However, Vit C intake to expedite healing is still worth a try. Your refractive error did not seem to be very high , so I may assume the risk of haze and scarring is low.

I went in on a Saturday (for my free consultation) and by the time everything was done, I knew this was the place that I wanted to get my Lasik done. After knowing that I had qualified for the procedure, they were truly excited for me. And wow, they couldn't have been more right! Thank you not only for my procedure, but also for taking care of me the way only Lasik-1 can take care of a patient
