I see people are blaming laser eye surgeries by themselves here, because of undergoing lasik that resulted with complication. However, I need to ask a question..
How responsible are those patients before undergoing these surgeries?everybody knows about thecniques and machines but there is a fact that many of patients do underestimate...the doctor..
nearly everybody thinks that these surgeries are all about the equipment. However, besides the equipment what most important is the experience of the doctor.
doesnt matter how many stuff you read about the type of the surgery, because when you go to clinic you dont have the right to decide about the surgery. Surgeon is the one who is gong to evaluate your results and do a treatment plan.
If the plan is not suitable for you, or standardized, you of course will have glares, halos and so...
especially in countries which laser eye surgery prices are very high, the number of surgery that an opthalmologist performed is very low. What I mean is, they do not have enough experience. I know somebody would get mad about what am I writing, but it is the reality.
so, when you call a clinic to book an appointment, have the doctors name and do a little reserach about them. Also, ask the number of surgeries that doctor performed. if the clinic says, we cant give that info, believe me that doc even perfomed around 500.
I know doctors perfomed more than 50.000, so cant compare what inexperienced docs and the ones that I know..so cant blame laser eye surgery |

Informing in the jungle of information seem to be a neverending task. Although I have prepared a little list, there will always be a few questions I would not think of immediately. E.g. I would never think of asking about how to handle insufficient suction of the ring? Oh my god
Do you mind posting a check list on your home page which we can print out? For practical reasons it would be very helpful to have all the questions at hand
Yes I agree esp. with a large chain practice. There are definitely experienced and less experienced doctors with a different bio. _________________ I know nothing but would like to know everything |
